Vicky & Jacob
Urban Rooftop Glam at The Dewberry
Vicky and Jacob’s November nuptials at The Dewberry merged landmark Charleston style with chic rock-n-roll edge. The luxe venue in the heart of downtown Charleston delivered a sunset autumn ceremony with steepled top-of-the-world cityscape views. The bride wore an intricate layered fairytale gown and carried a jeweled Elvis-inspired bouquet and guests sparkled in suits with sneakers, dark sunglasses and tasteful rock star panache.
The mid-November wedding was swathed in a deep evergreen and classic black and white canvas offset by brilliant ivory blooms singing in wild palm and sky-arching greenery by the Flowershop. Planners with A Charming Fete carried the cocktails, oysters and dancing theme throughout, scrawling guests’ names in oyster half shells and adding personalized dashes in a cigar bar, a monogramed leather coat draped over the bride’s dinner chair, the couples’ dogs smiling up from cocktail napkins and an antique phone serving as the leave-a-message guest book.
Photographers Sean Money + Elizabeth Fay caught raw, spirited moments in a charmed brick alleyway first look and dramatic passionate private last light embraces. The photographers played with sunbeamed backlighting and iron gate textures, catching rare reflections and genuine unstoppable laughter. Décor by Event Works, BBJ Rentals and Curated Events added modern touches in artistic black and white china, black flatware and rich emerald linens among twinkling white candles. Guests flowed from the eighth-floor terrace to the Walled Garden reception space savoring the brick and ivy ambiance and a gourmet dinner before heading into the opulent ballroom for dancing.
