Regal Romance and Autumn Magnificence at James Monroe Highland
Anna and Milo’s fall wedding at James Monroe Highland wore a cloak of French style and grace. Late October colors blanketed the historic estate and the expansive landscape, blue skies and gilded trees glowing in every direction.
Expert event planner Barb Wired threaded delicate European countryside and global touches throughout the day with English tea sets, antique vases and signage and a world map highlighting the couple’s travels. Elegant cello and violin melodies guided the wedding party down the grassy aisle, weaving through the estate’s stoic statutes and immaculate landscaping, along brick walkways and between towering green hedges.
The bride wore a classic lace dress, braided bun and satin royal blue heels and the groom stood handsomely in a sharp black formal tuxedo. The talented floral team from Gregory Britt Design outfitted the day in lush ivory florals speckled with pink, blue and crimson blooms. Impressive installations were perched on white ceremony aisle pillars in a bounty of greenery as the couple shared sacred vows in a grove of oaks wearing brilliant autumn hues.
Charlottesville wedding photographers with Robert Radifera Photography showcased the gorgeously manicured estate, orchestrating a couple shoot under grand oaks, strolling on crunchy fall leaves, splashes of gold and red framing the newlyweds. Photographers captured autumn decor in apples and mini pumpkins mixing with vintage blue and white china and deep blue linens. Family photos were set against the pristine white estate fencing backed by endless fall gold while bocce ball, croquet, badminton and more lured guests to cocktail hour fun on the lawn.
Caterers with Harvest Moon Catering delighted with a three-course French feast of autumn burrata salad, bistro steak and roast chicken with apples and rosemary polenta followed by lemon and berry wedding cake and carrot cake. Guests sipped chilled French wines and marveled at the stunning three-tier white cake with intricate blue detailing and the couple’s monogram before flowing out of the covered wood pavilion onto the custom al fresco dance floor to dip and twirl under the moonlight.
