Emily & Nathan
Enchanted Golden Countryside Energy at The Market at Grelen
Wrapped in The Market at Grelen’s thriving greenery, expansive pastoral views and romantic Blue Ridge Mountain backdrops, Emily and Nathan’s October wedding brought together friends and family in a botanical wonderland celebration. Charlottesville wedding planners from Swoon Soirée guided guests from the traditional church ceremony to the bucolic greenhouse reception where décor and rentals by MS Events, BBJ Rentals and Gibson Rental fashioned a thoughtful space in dazzling lighting, artistic blue floral napkins, crisp ocean blue linens, crystal goblets and sterling flatware. Long wooden farm tables and rustic wine barrels added to the warm countryside aesthetic.
Charlottesville wedding photographer Matt Schmachtenberg Photography documented the special day in his distinct candid film-inspired style, using light and shadow to cast a soft vintage aura and capturing every detail, including a touching moment where the father of the bride shared a tearful first look and helped his little girl buckle her strappy blue wedding heels. Matt’s expert lens caught sweet embraces and first dances under glowing bistro lighting reflecting from the glass greenhouse ceiling and a magical sunset shoot ablaze in golden radiance.
Willow Branch Flowers added to the natural setting with earth-inspired florals built around climbing fern and foliage and bountiful ivory, peach and pink blooms. Exchange Events + Catering treated guests to wine and libations during a sunny al fresco cocktail hour on the bluestone terrace and a dessert table of macaroons, pies, pecan tartlets and wedding cake brought homemade decadence to the party. A brass band carried everyone to their feet, rousing a good-old fashioned dance party capped by a final intimate couple dance while guests prepared a sparkler send-off under the late-autumn night sky.
