Black Tie Refinement and Brilliant Blooms at Pippin Hill
Zoe and Dylan’s October wedding at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards welcomed modern black tie sophistication wrapped in polished high-touch hospitality and early autumn brilliance. The coveted Charlottesville wedding venue’s organic beauty sang against moody misty mountain backdrops as floral designers with Nature Composed set indoor and outdoor wild, free-flowing floral scapes in bursting ivory blooms and rich lush leafing.
Wedding planners from Donovan-Groves Events arranged the romantic covered ceremony on the classic stone veranda as chic black suits and gowns added striking elegant panache against the custom ivory and white floral ceremony arch. Photographer Kylie Martin captured huge hugs and first looks on the pristine grounds among vibrant wildflowers and rolling hills. Her graceful lens focused on sweet pink plaid bridesmaids’ pajamas, the bride’s silver Chanel flats and private hand-written letters shared with her parents. The estate’s natural sweeping vineyard and mountain views and vivid green landscape struck a striking chord for family and wedding party portraits.
Guests flowed from cocktail hour into the two-story agrarian-inspired granary reception space for dinner and dancing under vaulted ceilings. Prescott lanterns, strung bistro lighting and lots of golden-white candlelight created a warm welcoming reception glow while vintage detail shimmered in gold-trimmed antique plates and chargers, glinting brass flatware and gold-rimmed wine glasses.
The esteemed Pippin Hill catering team curated locally sourced menus, plucking ingredients from the onsite garden and pairing dishes with estate-grown wines. Guests savored cocktail hour bites that included an elaborate crudité bar with homemade dips, sushi bites, mini tacos, gourmet mushrooms and artful canapés before settling into a multi-course dinner followed by coconut-flaked wedding cake and flutes of rosé.
