An Enchanting Avenue of Oaks Ceremony at Boone Hall

Alex and Jared’s October Charleston wedding at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens was a breathtaking black tie sunset affair. Guests gathered at the Antebellum plantation’s stately brick entrance, the couple’s dog smiling and groom tearing up as the bride and her father made their way down the Avenue of Oaks.

Charleston wedding photographers with Kailee DiMeglio captured intentional harmonious imagery, focusing in on bridal party prep time at the spa, stunning wedding party shoots under dramatic moss-draped ancient oaks and a joyous bridal party first look. Luminous fall rays trickled through oak canopies, backlighting the bridesmaids’ shimmering apricot floor-length gowns and bride’s classic cascading veil.

Floral designers with Festoon Charleston built airy garden-style bouquets in blush, ivory and white accented by rich golden foliage. The gilded autumn glow carried over into the Cotton Dock reception where terracotta and tan linens, stylish woven basket lighting, flowing greenery, and petite vintage white vases holding the sweetest wild centerpiece bouquets set a warm fairytale tone. Cru Catering extended Southern culinary flair in signature Charleston libations — a garden muddled blueberry mule and a bourbon hard pear cider cocktail — and gourmet shrimp hors d’oeuvres.

A white three-tier cake wore flecked gold and simple blooms on a white antique cake stand. Guests flowed out onto the iconic al fresco Cotton Dock for drinks and chic Southern high-top seating with soothing creek sounds encircling. Wrapped in the arms of loving friends and family, the newlyweds beamed under a sparkler send-off, exiting the party in an antique Oldsmobile convertible.
