A Modern Marquee Fairytale at Common House
Katie and Matt’s December Charlottesville wedding at Common House glinted in vogue metropolitan style. Close friends wore deep matte jewel tones and the bride was stunning in an ultra glam off-the-shoulder long-sleeved couture gown and whispy upswept hair.
Charlottesville wedding planners from Sonder Events carried the deep fuchsia, emerald, red and silver theme throughout the three-level venue’s rooms, lighting towering slender candlesticks, floating heart-shaped balloons outside of the brick building and setting a gorgeous enchanted glowing ceremony alter in rows of tall candlesticks and sparkling starburst decor. The winter ceremony took place in the modern curated Vinegar Hall art gallery among green seasonal foliage and vibrant fuchsia and white blooms.
Kenzi Flinchum Photography tapped into the venue’s sharp sleek angles, black and white striped stairways, massive disco-inspired lighting and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Downtown Mall to play with light and shadow, creating show-stopping dramatic imagery.
Talented lenses caught a streetscape newlywed shoot and a family photo session in the blue and gold library. The couple took time for a playful, seductive shoot over flutes of champagne and a game of chess along with artistic black and white images in the lounge area on plush velvet and leather furnishings.
Guests tucked away into carefully curated private nooks and lounge spaces to connect and celebrate over flutes of Dom Perignon and a white heart-shaped wedding cake dressed in maraschino cherries. Long wood farm tables were lined with emerald and fuchsia candlesticks, pomegranates and citrus and the space transformed into a high-energy dance party, ushering in the newlyweds in their matching white track suits, the bride’s white nails dotted with tiny red hearts.
