Laney & Cait
A June Happily Ever After at The Market at Grelen
Laney and Caitlin’s June Charlottesville wedding folded beautifully into The Market at Grelen’s bountiful summer setting, flowing with countryside bliss among lush flowers and thriving plants. Expert planners from Angelica & Co transported Charlottesville wedding guests to a magical floral wonderland with trellises, gardens, fountains and greenhouses naturally embracing wedding elements. The 1,000-acre tree nursery matched the couple’s radiant, joyous energy with organically designed flexible venue spaces — reception table seating assignments nooked into rows of potted greenhouse plants; a shaded trellis tunnel wrapped in deep vines, tall plants, vibrant florals and twinkling lights served as a fairytale first look backdrop; and a custom greenery installation spelling out LOVE graced the ceremony grounds overlooking rolling green fields and forests.
Rebecca Burt Photography caught sensual, loving moments on the pristine blue-sky June afternoon. The brides shared tears, smiles and embraces, each glowing in her lovely white gown, while happy tears erupted from the wedding party as they welcomed the couple to their big day. Wedding party portraits unfolded among oak trees and expansive pastoral views with intimate shots set up against the property’s stunning brick patio. Floral designers with Hedge Fine Blooms curated fresh-plucked bouquets in canary yellow, soft peach, brilliant blue and deep pink, elevating the already bucolic scene’s rich green plants, shrubbery, trees and potted blooms.
Personalized touches in sweet hand-drawn invites depicting the couple, tables named after the couple’s favorite breweries; rainbow pride cups, headbands and dog outfits and playful MadLibs-style RSVP cards infused Laney and Caitlin’s personalities into the celebration. Serendipity Catering & Design set up refreshing mint and watermelon-infused water stations, hosting a delicious cocktail hour on the greenhouse lawn plied with jar-cuterie snacks and steak bruschetta. The open-sided greenhouse reception space sang in vintage blue glassware, steel gray linens and sterling silver flatware by MS Events with simple rustic greenery flowing down each farm table.
